The upper picture is the USA Cucurbita moschata 'Neck pumpkin', similar to other "neck" winter squashes from USA, whereas the lower picture is an italian/french Cucurbita moschata probably like a trombone or trumpet squash (like those called Tromboncino, Tromba and names such) that are harvested preferably in an immature stage for eating as a summer squash, but that can be eaten also in a mature stage.
