အာဖရိက တောခွေး (Lycaon pictus) သည် အာဖရိကတွင်သာ တွေ့ရသော ခွေးမျိုးရင်းဝင် တိရစ္ဆာန် ဖြစ်ပြီး အရွယ်အစား ကြီးမားသည်။ ဆာဗားနားမြက်ခင်းပြင်များနှင့် တောအုပ်ပါးလျသော နေရာများတွင်သာ တွေ့ရသည်။ ကိပ်အမဲလိုက်ခွေး၊ ဆေးရောင်ခြယ်ခွေး၊ ဆေးရောင်ခြယ် ဝံပုလွေ၊ ဆေးရောင်ခြယ် အမဲလိုက်ခွေးစသည်ဖြင့် အမည် အမျိုးမျိုး ခေါ်ဝေါ်ကြသည်။
အရွယ်ရောက်ပြီးသော အာဖရိက တောခွေး အကောင်ရေ ၆၆၀၀ ရှိသည်ဟု ခန့်မှန်းထားသည်။ အာဖရိက တောခွေးများသည် ၁၉၉၀ ခုနှစ်ကတည်းက IUCN ၏ မျိုးသုဉ်းရန်အန္တရာယ်ရှိသော မျိုးစိတ်အဖြစ် သတ်မှတ်ခံထားရသည်။[၂]
