An amazing pyrite concretion from a new Chinese find. This striking, slightly flattened ball of parallel bands of sparkly pyrite microcrystals on shale looks like a hand-woven basket or clay pot inset with pieces of precious metal. The concentration of pyrite on the “lid” and bottom has a striking look. A unique and fine specimen.
